Once the job fair is over,
follow up with the employers. This is where the information
you wrote on the back of the business card will be helpful.
Write a short note, explaining that you met them at the job
fair, in the city which it was held, the date it was held
on, and the position which you applied for.
Make sure that your name,
address, and telephone number is on the letter that you send
to them. Have the letter typed so it will be easier to read
and will appear more professional. Enclose another copy of
your resume, with paper matching the letter you are sending.
Ensure that someone else
proofreads your letter for any spelling or grammar errors.
Once again, make sure the name of the person to whom you are
writing is correctly spelled.
Send these letters within
one week of the job fair. This will give the person a chance
to catch up on what they have missed while they were out of
the office.
Try not to call the person.
Human Resources Professionals are very busy and receiving
a personalized letter will leave a lasting impression.
One last bit of advice:
Keep a log of the companies you wrote a letter to, when you
sent the letter, and if there was a response. This will keep
you organized and feeling confident!
